The Faculty of Economics includes the following Departments:
- Department of Technology, Resources and Development (Dipartimento per le Tecnologie, le Risorse e lo Sviluppo);
- Department of Business Law (Dipartimento di Diritto dell’economia);
- Department of Private and Community Law (Dipartimento di Diritto privato e comunitario);
- Department of Business Administration (Dipartimento di Economia aziendale);
- Department of Banking, Insurance and Markets (Dipartimento di Banche, Assicurazioni e Mercati);
- Department of Public Economics (Dipartimento di Economia pubblica);
- Department of Mathemathics for Economics, Finance and Insurance Decisions (Dipartimento di matematica per le decisioni economiche, finanziarie ed assicurative). The Department’s research focuses on quantitative techniques and fine mathematical modelling of relevant problems from Economics, Finance and Actuarial sector, including Risk Management of Pension Funds and Insurance. Teaching activities prepare students for careers ai academia, business and government. The mixture of theoretical and business –specific skills gives to the Department a specific qualification within Sapienza- University of Rome;
- Department of Management Sciences (Dipartimento di Scienze della gestione d'impresa);
- Department of Geoeconomic, Linguistic, Statistical and Historical Studies (Dipartimento di Studi geoeconomici, linguistici, statistici, storici per l’analisi regionale). The Department, which is the oldest in the faculty, was founded in 1983 when the Institute of Historical Studies joined with the Institutes of Geoeconomics and Statistics. The Institute of Foreign Languages was integrated into the department in 1999. The department is renowned for its excellent interdisciplinary research and publishes its own journal, Annali.
